That was a new one to him. He was certain others at least spoke of him—he was far too strange for rumors to not spread, no matter how little truth there was to them—but he could think of no instance where anything he’d done would cause such.. negative reputation. His eyes take in her slight hesitation, something he could have likely taken advantage of had he wanted to fight, but he lets the opportunity pass, wishing for peace, not violence.
“Then you have heard.. incorrect things,” he responds, forcing his voice even more careful in cadence, not wishing to provoke her further, eyes glancing to the gun pointed at him, then back to her own. “What reasons would I have? Who has spoken ill of me?”
The way he spoke… So calm and smooth only made her rage burn hotter. Snarling she took a step towards him, her other hand coming up to join the first on the gun. “I don’t know what reasons you have,” she snapped, her mind telling her to hurry up and get this over and done with. “But I know that it was your name. That’s all the proof I need when someone puts my ship and crew in danger.”
She readjusted her grip again and licked her lips nervously. Fear. She felt afraid… It had been too long since she had last felt such a thing, and to feel it in the presence of the individual who had tried to hurt the people she cared most about… It made her feel sick.
