“At the cost of your own life?” Kai shook her head. Maybe she was going about this wrong, but she had no desire to be that burden on anyone. She didn’t need saving. Not like that.
“If that’s the cost we deem necessary then…” She trailed off and turned away from Kai. “We’re not children, Kai. If we make the decision to save you it’s our choice.”
